        Many debate if military service  should be compulsory or not.  Yes, it's difficult to spend long days in the       
        military camp, yet it is worth all the sacrifices. One will feel proud having serve the country and knowing that
        Korea will have an active reserve army to protect it if necessary.

      >  "Whether" is used when two options are given  - be made compulsory or not.
     >   "Should be made compulsory" is a better term to use.
     > (Having + past participle", thus served.
     > "Has an active" is used because it means that it already has in the present, not only in the future.
    >  Protect needs an object so whether you use the reflexive pronoun "itself" or a sample object -e.g its
        people.
